Prototype

Some call the Prototype a revolutionary railgun that opened new horizons for the use of Portalium. I call it a clear proof that trying to turn Portalium into a weapon is a very bad idea.

On paper, the Prototype is every sniper’s dream. A concentrated Portalium beam punches through walls, delivers astonishing accuracy and stopping power that makes most other sniper rifles look pale. Instant delivery of destructive force across vast distances — sounds almost too good to be true. So where’s the catch?

The problem is that when a Prototype beam contacts another piece of Portalium-based technology, an energy resonance of colossal power can occur. In the best case you get a crater a couple of kilometers wide and total disintegration of matter at the impact site. In the worst case… your target absorbs the combined power of the Portalium and becomes a major danger to the whole Simulation.

That’s exactly what happened to the inventor of Portalium Armor, Mick Rodriguez. After that fateful shot he came to be known as Portalius. Please remember this lesson next time you look through a scope. The Prototype is powerful and rare, but its story is a warning. Don’t let it happen again.
